Brazil Ordinary Naturalization Process

I am going to apply for an Ordinary naturalization in Brazil. My child was born in Brazil and I have received a permanent residence card (RNM), I have read about the issue of naturalization on the Internet and the website of the Federal Police. But I still have some questions. I am explaining the steps if it is wrong please correct me.

1- After 1 year of residence in Brazil, I must register my request on the following website

https://solicitacao.servicos.gov.br/pro … vico=11169

2- Upload all the documents including the Portuguese language certificate, proof of residence in Brazil, and other documents on the site.

3- After uploading all the documents, I have to make an appointment from the website below and show the originals of all the documents, and fingerprinting is done. It takes several months to find an appointment from the Federal Police website, and currently, the Federal Police in Sao Paulo does not have free appointment times.

4- After the appointment, the documents are checked by the federal police, which may take 6 months.

5- After PF Analise, the documents are reviewed by the MJSP.

6- After MJSP, I have to wait for the announcement of the result on the following site.

https://www.gov.br/imprensanacional/pt-br

That was all I understood. If it is wrong, please tell me.

Two questions

a- After reviewing the documents by MJSP, is it still necessary to make another appointment?

b- If I leave Brazil for a few months after meeting in person with the Federal Police and showing the documents, will there be any problem in this process?

Thank you,

a - As long as the status of your petition in the PF system is showing as "em análise" or better yet, "deferido" (granted), probably not.  If it shows as "indeferido" (rejected), I would contact the PF office immediately either by phone or by visit to find out what the problem is and if there is any way you can fix it.

b - If you're planning on being out of the country at any point during the processing of your naturalization petition, I would recommend discussing that with the PF at the time of your in-person meeting.

@abthree

Thanks for your reply.

In general, considering the lack of available appointment time on the Federal Police website and the long period of document reviewing in the Federal Police, how long do you think this process will take after uploading the documents?

If I move to another city 3 months before the start of my application on the Federal Police website. For example, the city of Bela Horizonte has available appointment time on the Federal Police site for naturalization. Does the overall time of the process decrease in this situation?

I'm sorry, but I really have no idea about that -- when I applied, making an appointment online was not required.  The only thing I can suggest would be to phone the PF office and ask them.

@abthree

I don't understand one of the steps correctly.

What is the next step when I have uploaded all my documents on the site?

The following link is Scheduling System Naturalization. When should I complete this form?

I would think that you should complete it when you're sure that the document package you uploaded is correct and complete, so that you can be called in for them to examine the actual documents  and interview you.

If anyone has completed the online system and that's incorrect, please feel free to respond with better information.
