IRS Questions

This is my first year delivering/paying IRS as I opened my activity as a freelancer in October 2023.

The income I earned in 2023, I only emitted receipts for in January 2024 as I was unaware of procedures at the time.

I have a couple questions:

- I just read in a thread (from 2022 I must say), that it's possible to be exempt for 3 years from paying IRS if your income is above 6000/year (which it was). Is that still the case? (I don't I classify as an EXPAT as I am a citizen here.)

- If not, my only concern is that all the 2023 earnings will be registered as 2024 and put me in a higher tax bracket. How can I ensure this doesn't happen?

- I was informed to fill out the Anexo B com ZEROS however I am unsure what this means and how I can go about correcting the earnings.

Hi jadengee09,

If you're a Portuguese citizen, why don't you ask these questions easily at an AT office, rather than on an expat website?...
