Well, it has been a few months since the above was posted.

Has anybody found an insurance company that would
insure a 76-year-old man against an accident-caused
injury or condition in Northern Thailand or anywhere else?

A personal accident insurance is not same as a health insurance. What kind of insurance are we talking about? Being 76 years old is a problem when it comes to health insurances and an even bigger problem when it comes to PA-insurances. Most PA-insurances issued by banks have a 60 years of age limit and some are only available for Thai nationals.
