The House of Digital Art is back, just as immersive and breathtaking as ever. Let's delve into the latest exhibition at this unique museum, titled "All Islands Are Trees."

An unprecedented exhibition

Since its opening in July 2023, the House of Digital Art (HoDA) has become a landmark in the local cultural scene. Focused on artistic creation in all its forms, this cultural hub reinvents the dialogue between art and technology while delving into the concept of island life. Inspired by a quote from Mauritian poet Édouard Maunick, "All islands are trees," the new exhibition at HoDA opens a new chapter in the world of digital art. Expect awe-inspiring installations, augmented reality experiences, and vibrant colors.

Redefining cultural experience in Mauritius

Launched during an opening at the Galerie du Génie in Port Louis on Wednesday, April 3rd, this second season will run until July 2024. Through regular events, artist residencies, performances, and workshops, HoDA invites visitors to immerse themselves in a unique artistic universe. The lineup includes breathtaking installations, augmented reality experiences, and a riot of color.

Once again, HoDA presents a diverse selection of digital art installations, ranging from visual experiences in their famous immersive room to interactive works, augmented reality, moving installations, and sound productions, all sprinkled with robotics and artificial intelligence. This new exhibition prompts reflection on our place in the ecosystem, exploring the challenges of insularity and contemporary issues. Twelve local, regional, and international artists present a variety of works, exploring three narrative threads: trees as witnesses of our past, their resilience and intelligence, and the challenges we face.

As a reminder, the House of Digital Art is the first permanent house dedicated to digital art in Mauritius. Nestled in the Hôtel du Génie, a historic building in the heart of Port Louis, this digital art gallery offers a unique immersive experience where art, imagination, and technology intertwine. With a dedicated budget for creation, the artworks will be refreshed every six months, providing visitors with a constantly renewed artistic diversity.
